Coming out tips:
* Make sure that you feel ready and comfortable
* When coming out to family, friends etc… it helps if there aren’t any other pressures or worries happening at the time. Coming out when there’s time without stress and worry around will make it easier for others to come to terms that you have now openly come out.
* Think of who you want to come out to first and start from there instead of panicking of coming out to everyone at once.
* If you find that talking to people is difficult you could always write a letter/email/text to those you'd like to come out to.
* NEVER think that you've failed if you've not been able to come out when you want to, Just think that today wasn't the day.
* Speak to someone who you know is supportive and has your best interests at heart if you’re having difficulty coming out.
* There are many support groups around – in schools, colleges, universities, and youth groups. They may have advice to help you. Decide when and how to come out..
* Don't feel put off by coming out if you've heard of bad experiences. Everyone can have different types of experiences coming out.
* Don't feel that you've made a mistake coming out if you don't get the outcome you were expecting. Sometimes it may take people some getting round that I've come out, especially if they didn't expect it.
* If you feel you can't be face to face with the person you want to come out to, there is always the option to use the phone.
*Go with what you feel is the most comfortable way of coming out. Remember it's your decision whether you want to come out and how to as well.
* Don't feel rushed or pressured to come out. It will feel better if you come out when you feel ready to.
* There will always be people in your situation. The right people can support you and give you advice which could help you along the way.
* If you want to come out to certain members of your family/friends, maybe arranging a set time to come out to them could be wise.
